Recovery of water and process heat

Not a single drop of water is wasted!

The process water recovery system at Electris Coating Systems' electroplating plant is a comprehensive solution that allows efficient use of water in production processes and closes the water cycle - from intake from the company's own on-site well to reuse in the new electroplating process.

What does the process of process water recovery look like?

The post-production liquids from the plating line go to a treatment plant, where they undergo a neutralisation process. This stage is key to ensuring the safe disposal of post-production waste. The fluids then enter the neutraliser control tank, where they undergo pre-filtration. During this stage, any contaminants are removed. A key element of the recovery system is the use of reverse osmosis, which enables the water to be thoroughly purified of all impurities and to provide clean water ready for reuse. The purified water is distributed back to the plating line via a hydrophore set.

Advanced process of heat recovery

The electroplating process generates significant amounts of heat, which is often lost in traditional systems. Thanks to the advanced technology used in our electroplating plant, we can capture the energy generated in the various stages of our processes, such as heating the electroplating baths or cooling the components, and recycle it again.

The extracted heat is then reused, for example to:

  • heating water used in production processes,
  • heating plant premises,
  • supporting other technological steps in the production cycle.

Process heat recovery allows us to reduce CO₂ emissions and energy consumption from external sources. In this way, we also reduce the negative impact on the environment.
