Comprehensive quality and thickness testing of galvanic coatings

Multi-stage, comprehensive
testing of galvanic processes and coatings

The physical parameters of the electroplating baths are constantly monitored by the computer system managing the line, and our laboratory carries out, detailed chemical analyses of these processes. Thanks to the full automation of the electroplating plant and the use of advanced IT systems, it is possible to collect production, measurement and diagnostic data. This ensures the stability of the processes, which ultimately results in the highest quality parts being manufactured.

All physico-chemical tests performed in our laboratory are carried out based on and in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.

Find out what tests we perform in our laboratory.

We continuously monitor the composition and quality of the electroplating baths

We continuously monitor the composition and quality of the plating baths to guarantee full control of the process parameters, resulting in reproducible results and the highest quality coatings. We perform a number of tests for the presence of ions in the composition of electroplating baths:

  • Zn2+, Cu+, Ni2+, Ag+, Sn2+
  • CO32-, SO42-, BO33-,OH-, Cl-, CN-

The laboratory performs accurate thickness and adhesion measurements of electroplated coatings.

Using the X-ray fluorescence spectrometer with which our laboratory is equipped, we measure the thickness of even several coatings simultaneously. We measure electroplated coatings applied to copper and aluminium, thanks to suitable reference plates. XRF spectrometry is a non-destructive and highly accurate method of analysing galvanic coatings.

Adhesion tests on galvanic coatings

In the thermal chamber, we also carry out adhesion tests on galvanic coatings: silver, nickel, tin and copper sub-coatings. We also check adhesion using the notch grid method and by bending, polishing, notching and filing tests.

Physico-chemical analysis of water and wastewater

The computer system controlling the line continuously monitors the parameters of the electroplating baths, and our laboratory performs additional in-depth process analyses. Our state-of-the-art measuring tools enable us to carry out physico-chemical analyses of water from our on-site well, post-production water and wastewater which is neutralised in our wastewater treatment plant. In the process, we measure parameters such as:

  • pH,
  • electrical conductivity,
  • chemical oxygen demand (COD),
  • trace analysis of Sn, Zn, Cu, Ni, Ag, Fe, CN-,
  • density of samples,
  • water hardness.

Comprehensive PPAP process and pre-certification documentation

Our customers often commission us to carry out a PPAP process and prepare the relevant documentation to confirm the compliance of all production processes and the application of specific requirements. The high number of PPAP processes carried out demonstrates our commitment to quality. It is not just a formality, but proof and a guarantee of our commitment to delivering the highest possible quality products. Our company puts quality first, and PPAP is one of the pillars of this approach.

At the request of our contractors, with regard to the coatings made in our galvanising plant, we will provide the required documentation and the necessary confirmations for the necessary certification processes.
